Predator Killer of Killers Movie Review

Dan Trachtenberg gives every Predator fan what they would hope for and so much more in fantastic, animated movie.

This original animated anthology follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. Killer of Killers is a Predator fans dream come true exploring 3 different periods with Vikings, samurai, and World War 2 pilots take on a Predator then having all tie together by the end is satisfying to watch as a viewer. Dan Trachtenberg has proven he has such a strong hold on this franchise that makes you so excited for Badlands later this year you can tell he is fan like the rest of us.  

The animation in this film is stunning having this 3d painterly look that arrests you as a viewer you can tell the animaters that worked on this loved Arcane. The action is amazing to watch it delivers on the Predator violence you want and must come to expect but doing do in unique ways like in the Viking story where a Viking goes underwater hides behind ice Gladers ties the chain of a spear that goes right through the Predators mouth to kill it. The samurai story is gorgeously animated that captures the Japanese culture and I love the design of the predator design in slimed down and sneaky it is compared to the big brute in the Viking story or the big guy piloting the ship in the WW2 story they are all distinct from one another.

The 3 stories of the film are all great starting with the Viking story is great with this Mother son story that goes next level when the predator shows up the mother who is a badass kills the predator to protect her son who is eager to prove himself in a tight 20 minute story that goes into the samurai story that has maybe 10 lines in the whole story it’s all visual storytelling of a rivalry between 2 brothers that have to learn to put their differences aside to defeat the predator that is a theme of all 3 stories. The WW2 story is just as good as the other 2 with this young pilot who wants to prove he has value shows what he can do by creatively taking down the predator ship which makes the predators take him to their planet to fight to the death with the 2 other main characters that ties the 3 stories together that builds on the theme of working together in order to survive is so well realized seeing them fight each other at first then slowly overcome the language barrier to work together against the predators.

Final thoughts on Predator Killer of Killers is loved this movie it makes me so excited not only for Badlands later this year but the future of the predator franchise in Dan Trachtenberg’s hands you can just tell he loves this franchise and is who you want at the help I give this film a 4 and half out of 5 please go to Hulu to watch this asap.
